Take advantage of our CME Cruises, CME Seminars and CME programs sponsored by The School of Medicine, State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook. They are all approved for 18 or 24 category 1 continuing medical education AMA and PRA credits. The seminars have also been approved for 18 or 24 prescribed hours by the American Academy of Family Physicians. In addition, the medicolegal seminars have been approved for 18 or 24 hours of continuing legal, nursing, and dental education.
The entire clinical faculty comes from The School of Medicine. The legal-medical faculty is recruited nationally; each holds both the M.D. and J.D. degree. Eighty percent of the legal-medical faculty are past presidents of the American College of Legal Medicine. Programs feature world renowned physician lecturers, including Dr. Cyril H. Wecht, a top forensic pathologist, who has worked on the high profile cases of Anna Nicole Smith’s son Daniel, Jean Benet Ramsey, John F. Kennedy, Nicole Brown Simpson and Lacy Peterson.
Category 1 CME credits are the highest level of continuing education credits awarded by the AMA. Total available credits depend on the length of the cruise.
